I just noticed that my 'years of translation experience' under the 'experience' section of the profile was still at the number I set it at when I joined in Proz in 2006. I didnt' realize you would have to increment it manually every year; I'm surprised it doesn't update automatically. This seems like something that could and should be changed.

Thanks for pointing it out Aug 11, 2013

You're quite right, both that it doesn't update and that it should!

I would be impressed if someone managed to renew their Proz membership while in either of those two conditions, and it is in anticipation of precisely such eventualities that one should never set up an automatic renewal. As long as one remains a member I think it is a fair assumption that one is working as a translator.

Why would anyone expect their personal data to be updated by a networking portal. Seriously. That's a different kind of service, so please leave ProZ.com alone.

@Steven. Back to the topic. Aug 11, 2013

You joined ProZ.com in 2006 and you have not updated your profile ever since? Is that correct?

but for some reason I never noticed the years of translation experience failing to increase. I must admit it surprises me now that I didn't notice it, but that is rather the point of my post.
