English translation: client money shortfall

Norwegian term or phrase: klientgjeld
This has to do with financial reporting procedures (insurance company). It's the first time I've come across this term, and I would appreciate confirmation that this is the same as "client liabilities", or similar. Example sentence: "selskapet har avdekket avvik mellom størrelsen på klientgjeld in sin avstemming.."

This is difficult for me.. Per's comments proved very helpful, and Vedis' excellent reference helped me understand what I think was meant here. And yes, Per, you should have seen the whole of that sentence..! I have offered "shortfall" as the most likely interpretation, but have pointed out that the client should re-read the Nor. text and clarify. Sorry I can't split the points, folks. And thanks for your valuable inputs.

Explanation:
I checked this with my friend, the insurance agent, and he said klientgjeld is not a common term in Norwegian. The context will decide whether it is debt owed to the company by clients (unlikely) or debt owed to clients by the company (much more likely). Client liability it certainly isn't - in insurance terms, liability is the maximum insured amount, which would only become 'gjeld' if an event triggered the insurance payoff.
In my opinion, the safest bet would then be to translate literally, as client debt. Note also that "the company has uncovered discrepancies between client debt <and what?> in its reconciliation". Bit of singlehanded clapping here...
