Spanish term or phrase: guardamuelles / agente portuario
The duties of these employees of the autonomous government agency Ports de les Illes Balears include indicating to users which berth they may use, giving them any information they require, ensuring the rules and regulations are complied with, etc. They also sort out any problems caused by eg bad weather. Though it is not actually their job they usually help users moor and tie up etc, too.
