Explanation:
en un plano de construcción, los números que aparecen se llaman cotas y pueden ser parciales o totales.
creo que cota puede ser la palabra ya que el acotado pretende ser lo preciso que no puede ser el dibujo, el cual sería medido a escala (que ya es una posible fuente de error)

es sólo una sugerencia pero que parece funcionar con la frase.
