Spanish term

Bateas cuya producción es nuestra

Spanish to English Other Cooking / Culinary Restaurant description
I'm not sure how to translate this. 'Bateas' I take to mean 'mussel paltforms' but I don´t see how the 'producción' part fits in. "Mussel platforms managed by us"? For the UK.

mussel rafts that produce exclusively for us

Or "just for us". I reckon it must mean this: their (whole) production is ours, in other words we get the lot. It doesn't seem possible that the restaurant actually runs these bateas, judging by the context, and in any case if it did mean that it would be a very odd way of putting it.

For "batea", "mussel raft" is much more common than "mussel platform", judging by Google results.

"Mussel platform" was the answer here, but the answerer also suggested "mussel raft" and seemed to prefer the latter in the end.

Platforms or rafts? I found more cases of "rafts", but it is clear that both are used. I have seen "rafts" used in Scotland, as well as "platforms". I think either could be used equally well.

agree Joel Schaefer : this is the sense I get too

Thanks, Joel!
agree Evans (X) : I think this is what is meant, only I am familiar with the term mussel platforms, while 'rafts' is new to me (which of course doesn't mean it isn't used :-))

I'm not sure. Both are evidently used. Perhaps "rafts" is more common in America? Thanks, Gilla :)

our (very) own mussel platfoms

Just a suggestion, possibly too simple. Have a great year!
