Spanish term

instante de revelación - cierre de telón

Non-PRO Spanish to English Art/Literary Cinema, Film, TV, Drama Tragedy and TV Series
Hi guys,

Me again. I am full of doubt about the translation I have carried out of the following sentence

La tragedia clásica sitúa ese instante de revelación en el momento clímático del relato, postergándolo al máximo, para situarlo justo antes del cierre del telón.

My attempt

Classic tragedy places the moment of revelation in the climax of the story/tale, delaying it as much as possible, and situates it just before the curtain falls

@lorenab thank you. that seems to fit quite nicely :)

instante de revelación Is usually known, at least in the US as the "big reveal". I would say something like: classic tragedies have the big reveal right at the climax of the story, delaying it as much as possible so that it takes place just before the final curtain.

@Lisa It is linked to anagnorisis and the discovery by this character of something about another characters past but linking it to revelation in general in classic tragedies. Hope to have helped
Lisa McCarthy May 30, 2012:
Hi Chiara What exactly is this 'instante de revelación' that they are referring to?
