Trata-se de um manual com instruções de manutenção de um guincho ou diferencial de alavanca. A frase onde surge o termo em questão é a seguinte:

3.While installing the castle nut, turn the hand wheel clockwise, thus pressing the ratchet disk, friction disk on the brake seat.

Tanto quando sei, "ratchet" pode ser "roquete", "cremalheira" ou até "rochet" (pelo menos em Portugal, pois no Brasil penso que utilizam "catraca").

A minha questão é: dada a natureza do equipamento - um diferencial de alavanca - qual destes termos será o correcto em Portugal?

E será um "disco"? Uma "roda"? Uma "roda de roquete" fará sentido?

Já agora, se não for abusar, se alguém me puder dizer se existe diferença entre "guincho" e "diferencial" (neste caso, como tradução de "lever hoist"), agradeço.
