If it is something like this, I'd go with [creation] instead of [generation]. The former is more often used for things like [user creation], [account creation], [create a profile] etc. The word [generate] is typically used for more automated processes. For example, if a person types in a password it might be called a [user-created password], whereas a program that comes up with random passwords is more likely to be called a [password generator] (not [password creator]). Similarly for [random number generator] and [code generator]. |
