英語以前に、「平成26年3月期第2四半期」がいつのことやらよく分かりません。H25年4月1日～9月30日という記載を見かけました。だったらなぜシンプルにそう書かないのですか？

The second quarter of fiscal year ending March 31, 2014で問題ないと思います。用途に応じて略式の表記方法を使う手もあります。平成26年3月期とは平成26年（西暦2014年）3月末日に終了する一年の会計期間のことで、平成25年4月1日からこの期の会計年度を起算します。この場合4月から6月が第1四半期になります。どうして分かりにくい書き方をするのかよく分かりませんが、英語か何かの決算報告書の表現方法の影響を受けているのかも知れません。

This is actually the period July-September 2013, but they don't write it simpler (なぜシンプルにそう書かないのですか？:) because first the fiscal year should be specified. In this case, this is fiscal year 2013, which started April 1, 2013 and will finish March 31, 2014, hence 平成26年3月.
I suggest "FY2013-Q2" is better for use in headlines.
