As far as I can see, there isn't a definitive English translation that sums up this concept, which describes the use of different brush and ink techniques ( 在技法上，“笔”通常指钩、勒、皴、擦、点等笔法；“墨”指烘、染、破、泼、积等墨法)
I think brushwork, brushstrokes, or [the use of] brush and ink are all reasonable approximations, or you could transliterate into pinyin i.e. bimo and go with a bracketed explanation.
