It probably means they stopped using the suspected motors that were in the storage area until they could be inspected.
"yardhold" => yard hold ... to place a "hold" (stop any processes) on anything in the "yard" (a storage or receiving area, usually outdoors). (a similar expresison in semiconductors is a "fab hold" ... to stop using or shipping anything from a certain production area until a problem can be resolved).
