A "port" on a PC could be a "hardware port" or a "software port" already two quite different options, and "shadow" / "shadowing" has a rather fluid meaning.
What is the ST about? What's the full sentence? The one before? The one after?
All that would help to shed some light on what kind of shadow on what kind of port we're talking here.
