Do you have an idea about what "straight" means in the following sentence?

"I find it's best not to try to keep all these different standards straight."

It's about the different standards used in the HTML language.

My addition: the original statement is ambiguous. Ask the speaker what he means. Is he saying,\"Don\'t worry about the fine points\" or \"Be flexible and creative\"?
