Rising food prices, for example, will offer new income generating opportunities to farmers and should enhance the contribution of agriculture to economic growth. It is evident that the right framework conditions need to be put in place to provide the necessary market signals for higher investment in agriculture, in particular in Sub-Saharan Africa.
