Terminem docket określa się listę spraw do rozpatrzenia przez sąd, czyli wokandę. W tradycji anglosaskiej wymienionych na wokandzie spraw nie identyfikuje się jednak przez wskazanie uczestniczących w nich stron, ale przez podanie numerów, jakie zostały im nadane po wpłynięciu do sądu. Numeracja odzwierciedla kolejność w jakiej poszczególne sprawy zostały zarejestrowane w kancelarii sądu i oczekują na ropatrzenie. Numer podany na wokandzie nie jest więc sygnaturą akt. Sygnatura ma bowiem inny format i służy do oznaczenia całości związanej ze sprawą dokumentacji, a nie ustaleniu harmonogramu pracy sądu. Fragment docket 1882 należy więc odczytać wokanda 1882.
