I'm translating a text about the operation of compressors in a truck brake system. Unfortunately I don't have any more references; I was hoping that somebody might know the meaning/translation of this term. My guess is that the author might have written "underloader" instead of "unloader". I found a pdf in google (www.haldex.com/North-America/Applications-Products/Literatu... where the term "unloader cover plate" is mentioned. Later on in the text I'm translating, I also found the term unloader piston: "A line is connected from the air supply reservoir to the governor, and a second line is connected from the governor to the unloader piston port in the compressor if the governor is remotely mounted"
The term "unloader springs" also appears in the text: "In this governor piston position, the area above the unloader pistons is vented through the open governor valve to the governor exhaust port. Under this condition the unloader springs push the unloader pistons upward so they do not contact the inlet valves."
My attempt for "cover plate" is "placa protectora". I am relying on the knowledge and good will of my fellow ProZians for this translation. Thanks to everyone!

Para asegurar la constancia en el suministro de aire a presión para los sistemas de frenos de automotores, el compresor está dotado de un gobernador. El gobernador compara la presión en el tanque de reserva con la establecida como régimen, y envía una señal (neumática) a la válvula de descarga. Al abrir la válvula de descarga, el aire recircula dentro del compresor, o sea, no hay suministro adicional de aire comprimido. El término correcto en inglés es unloader</>
