La palabra desfalco se refiere especificamente a tomar para sí un caudal que se custodia (por una persona o una corporación). Hablando de seguros de vida quedaría muy bien usar "desfalco" para la expresión "corporate hit."

"golpe"

I think a suitable translation would be "golpe financiero". At least in Spain, un "golpe" has also the meaning of a crime (like robbing a bank).

In my opinion, "en la línea de un "golpe" financiero" conveys the original meaning of the English sentence. I would put the word "golpe" between brackets, in order to indicate that a special meaning of the word is intended.
