"Quiet Zone - Tyst zon.
Före och efter en streckkod måste det vara en ljus marginal (clear space), zonen bör vara minst 6,4mm eller 10ggr det smala strecket."

'Tyst zon' kallas detta hos Intermec som tillverkar sådana här streckkodsläsare.

Avstånd bör vara ett mer korrekt sätt att beskriva det, då det är antingen ett minsta avstånd eller en multiplikator av streckens tjocklek som avses.
