@Trudy. Thanks for pointing this out. I didn't even notice the "flagrance," since it seemed to be so obviously about fragrance.

I think that the text is referring to whether the film is permeable in this kind of way, whether a scent/aroma/fragrance will go through/diffuse through the film into the surrounding environment.

I think it is a typo for fragrance. I didn't even notice the spelling error at first.
