Kindly suggest a suitable and befitting word in place of *end* in the following sentence:

Thanks

Excuse me Mr.Asusisu your suggestions do not seem to fit here as I am talking about end of a disease in a country.

Rajesh do you mean to say:- he *said* that the infection of fatal pneumonia had almost * finished/passed (although ended is OK)* in that country,* though* it would take one or two weeks to confirm its one hundred per cent clearance.
because cent per cent doesn\'t make sense

I would suggest not using the verb tell in this sentence, simply "said".
He said that fatal pneumonia infection was nearly over in that country...

Is it possible that your translation could say:..."He said that (the risk of) fatal pheumonia infection was nearly over in that country..."?
The link below speaks about the epidemic being nearly over in Singapore.
