“Use of the subwoofer is always an issue in 5.1 music mixes. The “LFE” channel, as used in film soundtracks was designed (with a fixed equalisation curve) as a discrete effects channel for booms, rumbles and spaceships, and of course there are none of those at a XXXX gig. However ** if we were to mix any of our low frequency sounds to the LFE channel – say the bottom end of the double bass and the bass drums * and the listener has his or her system bass management set up, as the majority do, feeding low frequency signals from all channels to the subwoofer, both the LFE signals and bass managed signals would be reproduced simultaneously in the subwoofer causing all sorts of unpredictable level and phase problems. The solution is not to use the LFE channel at all on music mixes and that’s what we did on the 5.1 mix. The listener will then hear the correct low frequency portion of the overall mix from their subwoofer without suffering the risk of audio confusion that will happen if the subwoofer has to combine two different audio sources with incompatible phase characteristics.”

Gli strumenti li terrei al singolare, non ha senso metterli al plurale. Inoltre non tradurrei "bottom end" per un motivo molto semplice: perchè non c'è un vero e proprio traducente in italiano. Il bottom end è la parte immediatamente a monte delle frequenze subsoniche (al di sotto dei 20Hz) e non mi risulta che in italiano ci sia un termine specifico adatto a indicare quella sezione dello spettro sonoro. In altre parole, da 20 Hz a 300-350Hz, sono tutte basse frequenze, ma qui si vuole indicare la fascia che va da 20Hz a 80-100Hz.

generalmente uso l'espressione bassi profondi per tradurre la gamma dei suoni più bassi che vengono riprodotti dal subwoofer

e cmq se cerchi subwoofer e "bassi profondi" trovi molti riscontri
