Flammspaltbuchse

German to English Tech/Engineering Mechanics / Mech Engineering
Unfortunately there is little context. It comes up in a list of agitator (Rührwerk) components for use in potentially explosive areas. The one translation that has been put forward is "flame gap bushing", but there are no hits for either the German or English term in Google...

Äquivalenz Eine äquivalente Übersetzung zeichnet sich doch auch durch die Verwendungshäufigkeit der jeweiligen Termini aus!
Wenn es den Begriff auf deutsch so nicht gibt, würde ich den Kunden fragen. Wenn hier Berührungsängste bestehen, finde ich flame gap bushing perfekt.

Going purely on memory - something similar listed as parts in a machine/facility for making coal briquets. Apparently, it reduces/they reduce the force and spread of the flame in the event of a spontaneous explosion by guiding it into different, and safer, directions. But caution, it was a document I did several years ago!
