Die Rückkalkulation geht von einem vorgegebenen Preis (Marktpreis) aus. Der Betrieb ermittelt durch Vorkalkulation seine Selbstkosten. Zieht er vom Marktpreis seine Selbstkosten ab, erkennt er, ob er mit Gewinn den Auftrag übernehmen kann oder ob ein Verlust für ihn entstehen würde.
