Hello.
Does anyone know what this little abbreviation/shorthand means? It seems to appear in the same place time and again, which is when a case is invoked i.e. John Doe vs. Jane Doe [this abbreviation] + numbers.
Some examples are given below.
ע"א 132/86 גורי נ' מדינת ישראל ואח', פדי מב 1 555
ע"א 61/84 יוסף ביאעזי נ' אברהם לוי פדי מב (1) 446).
על הטוען להעדר כיסוי ביטוחי להוכיח כי התקיימו אחד החריגים על פי הפוליסה (ע"א 497/85 אשר אשל ואח' נ' פיליפ גאבל רייט פדי מב (1) 89)

Yes, peh daled yod would be piskei din, and mem-bet would be the number 42
