Persian (Farsi) term or phrase: پارسا
Hi,

Please could you let me know the exact meaning of پارسا, as a historical term? I gather it also means "devout, abstemious; pious".

From what date until what date did the پارسا people live, please? Could you perhaps give a couple of famous characters from Persian history who could be described as پارسا?

Also, Parsa is the ancient Persian name of Persepolis at the time of the Achaemenid Empire. The Achaemenid Empire or Persian Empire (550–330 BC) was the successor state of the Median Empire, ruling over significant portions of what would become Greater Iran. The Persian and the Median Empire taken together are also known as the Medo-Persian Empire, succeeding the Neo-Assyrian Empire. It was succeeded in turn by the Seleucid Empire.
