Quarter-round = a convex molding having a cross section in the form of a quarter
Molding = A decorative strip used for ornamentation or finishing

świerćwałek = quarter round - za W. Koch, Style w architekturze (leksykon). Penguin Dictionary of Architecture podaje także: Ovolo moulding - a wide convex moulding, sometimes called a quarter round.

Większy problem z cokołem, bo ma on kilka tłumaczeń na angielski, w zależności od tego, jak wygląda i gdzie się znajduje, ale formę listwy ma chyba wyłącznie cokół przypodłogowy, czyli inaczej mówiąc listwa przypodłogowa (patrz Słownik Nauk.-Techn.) - i wtedy nazywa się to baseboard lub mopboard (US) albo skirting board (Penguin Dictionary of Building: "a wooden board set on edge round the foot of a wall [...] It may now be built of wall tiles, metal trim, terrazzo, asphalt or other material [...]
Jesli jednak ten cokół nie jest listwą, to może oznaczać (za Kochem): 1 - dolna część budowli, często wyodrębniona uskokiem lub gzymsem cokolowym; 2 - podstawa kolumny, filara, posągu.
I wtedy może się nazywać plinth, dado, die, a nawet pedestal - ale potrzeba więcej kontekstu, żeby stwierdzić, o które chodzi.
