"Beauty therapist" is the most common term in the UK. I say this from experience.

We do say "Beautician" but I have heard this slightly less.

I think on reflection, that I would actually say "beautician" to describe somebody working in this profession and "beauty therapy" to cover the wider description. Therefore, for a course you may be better to say "beauty therapy course" as it covers the vocational side, rather than just the individual's category in life.
