Greetings! Here I am again, I hope that I'm not asking too much(I'm translating 200 pages until the Sep 10).
Придя в ВУЗ, друзья пошли в актовый зал, где должны были состояться собрания и, увидев, что трибуна свободна, Артур забрался на сцену, взял микрофон и обратился к людям:
- Друзья, я хочу предупредить вас: не смотрите телик! Это аппарат для зомбирования! (...)
- Немедленно отдай микрофон и уйди со сцены! - напал на Артура ректор. - Лучше бы хорошо сдал сессию! Что ты, троечник, можешь знать!?
I know that "сессия" is something like an exam at university, but I'd like to know from Russians with a good English or English speakers with a good Russian what exactly defines the word "Sessiya". My female friends at VK who are at university always post a sign "Сессия" as their profile pics when they have it. If I understood properly, it's like an exam, but why it's not called exam?
But the enigmatic word here is "троечник". Does it come from the Russian word to the number 3, that is, someone with the worst results?
PS: Since I'm translating it into Portuguese, more definitions you give me to this word, better to me.

What the ректор is saying is basically "Go study!" (get decent grades for your exams first before you say things like that here)

Троечник is stereotypically someone who does the necessary minimum to advance to the next year. A derogatory term in academia, but strangely enough they usually fair just fine in life :)
In my country we use the 0-10 system.
Троечник is simply a C student.
