It's not that simple though. This sentence could not be literally translated to reflect the true flow of the headline. My suggestion would be: "Serbian music scene on TV" or "Serbian music scene as captured on TV". I could probably come up with more variations. However, the word "zapis" itself, if observed out of the contest, means "a written copy".

Comment: "Well, I'm not too fond of grading and choosing the "winner" but as I'm going to do it I feel I owe you all a comment. So – IMHO:
I finally opted for Nermina's solution – simply because I can use it - although I normally translate "zapis" as "record" and I totally agree with Tanja's explanation (which shows she's come across the problem before) but not with the final translation of the article title, because of the possible confusion between "musical" as an adjective & as a noun and because I'm not sure "television record" is clear. I also quite like Freddie's suggestion and it was difficult to choose between "as captured on TV" and "within a TV frame". Both can work in this context, but "zapis" still remains a tough term to translate!
Thanks everyone!

record
Record is the most neutral word meaning "zapis". Since the article title you provided does NOT state that it deals with a single documentary programme about the Serbian musical scene, maybe it refers to a history of the Serbian musical scene in television record, i.e., the archive of TV programmes about the subject. In that respect, the best choice would be the word "record".

Additional comment
"Musical scene" is NOT only a scene from a musical, as "musical" also has the adjectival function, just as "musical box " is equal to "music box". The esteemed colleague VesnaZ should be aware of this, and should refrain from putting comments of this type onto this page in the future. This is definitely NOT the place for it.

i'd like to thank branka for the valuable points. i know she had a difficult task and i'm glad i could help. i also have a comment for "atanja": please let's not boast of our "authority" or criticize other people's inputs. i'm sure the answerers can figure out for themselves which option can suit them the best.
