A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

in the hospital/at the hospital Ok, I have to admit I have some serious problem here. The more I study this issue, the less I seem to understand. Why
Visiting someone in the hospital./Visiting people at the hospital./I was visiting my best friend in the hospital./Comfort someone in the hospital ...I could carry on forever.

... Yet, I have found many examples concerning usage of the word "hospital" together with preposition"in" which use the definite article, e.g. We say we visit a friend who is in the hospital. He has been in the hospital for three weeks. She is laid up in the hospital for the second time this year. etc.

sabinka yes, you are "at the hospital" and your friend is "in hospital". Ak to chcete presne tak ako pisete. Mimichodom, ani po slovensky ta veta nie je velmi slovenska. Ked ste na navsteve priatela v nemocnici, ktory tam lezi, je jasne ze je v nemocnici.

In hospital/in the hospital In UK English at least - if the person in question is a patient, then he/she 'is in hospital', or 'is an in-patient', but if he/she just happens to be in the building, then I would say that he/she is 'inside the hospital', or even 'at the hospital as well' :)

...but not in both cases, right? We are at the hospital but he, the friend is in the hospital.
"the" is there to indicate the building, not the general situation. And just fom the point of view of grammar, if I wanted to use at the hospital and in the hospital (on purpose) in this particular sentence, would then the first part be with "at" and the second part "in"?

thanks. Depends on the audience, though. "In hospital" isn't used in US English.
