I don't know of any British recipes using calves lungs (lambs lungs , of course, in haggis) although there are some from France, Italy and Germany

neutral translatol : I have doubts because the Concise OED defines 'lights' as "the lungs of sheep, etc.... AS FOOD FOR PETS", and indeed when I was a kid we used to feed them to our cat. Isn't there a culinary euphemism?

by the way I am Scottish and they are part of a traditional food (haggis)
agree Wil Hardman (X) : I thought lights refered specifically to the lung, 'beef lights'

You're right will, but I have almost always seen this as any lights and particularly from lamb in the UK and even in Spain
