Glad to help!
Patrycja Honkisz (asker) Apr 23, 2013:
anademahomar you're right!!! it doesn't involve money, she is a 13-year old girl, who lost the ability to move her legs and she finds the reason of her life in the music/piano...
anademahomar Apr 22, 2013:
Me da la impresión que cuando habla de "sonidos de plata", se está refieriendo al sonido de las notas de la Polonesa. Practica una y otra vez esta pieza (trabajando arduamente) para poder hacer emanar los "sonidos de plata". No me atrevo a postearlo pues tengo cero seguridad. Quizás con un poco más de contexto...

to make a bit of money through blood, sweat and tears.

This could perhaps be a more idiomatic alternative to the suggestion above. It might be slightly stronger than the Spanish phrase but is an idiomatic way of saying through hard work or with substantial effort.
