Spanish to English Law/Patents Real Estate
The boundaries of a land area are described in a 'promise to sell' agreement part of a land purchase agreemeent (compraventa). The term 'al medio' comes up several times:

Se determina por los siguientes linderos: NORTE: 3.50 muro común > con circulación común. EAST: Linea quebrada de 2.30m, 0.25m, 0.50m, 0.25m, and 4.40m muro y columnas comunes > con circulación común...
NADIR: Placa común > con primer nivel del sótano...

My first thought was 'in the middle' but that should be 'en el medio' I think, and it always appears with 'común', so it might be 'common TO something'. Any ideas?

If the sentence ends the way it does, without mentioning what's "in between," would you necessarily have to "fill in the blanks"? Say what grammarians might about ending a sentence with a preposition, usage clearly suggests otherwise. Good luck :-)

If it helps, it seems that different language is used in a separate document, and 'de por medio' is used instead: En l�nea recta entre los puntos 1 y 2, en distancia de 5 metros, muro com�n "de por medio". If it means 'in between' then in between what?

Do you feel my answer is somehow incorrect, or are you simply stating your preference? If it's the latter, I'd say a "disagree" is inappropriate.

I would say that these are walls and columns which are jointly shared between properties and buildings. Hope this is helpful!

An answer to your note above, the \"in between\" is between two properties. Think of the boundary lines of a property and a wall, common to both properties running between them, the wall runs along the boundary lines.
