I read it differently. In fact, although not fantastically written, I think it's correct. They are going to do an advert. There are many scenes in the advert. If they use the material provided by XXX, then they'll save money, as they won't have to shoot so many scenes.

so the CD stressed the advantage of XXX's contribution, as it means that fewer scenes can be shot for the advertising. (and many other possibilities of phrasing the sentence)
