I'm not sure how your text continues, but you can use engineering alone as a noun, as in the following example taken from a client's original:
"XXX will provide the financing for the project; the contract for the engineering, construction, operation and maintenance of the plant, and be the owner of the property and plant until it is turned over to xxx after 12 years of operation".
However, depending on your context, it could also be "engineering work", "engineering services", etc.
