⸙ Ever since I was a child, I have had an incredible obsession with linguistics. At my early childhood, I loved saying made-up words and imagining that I was speaking different foreign languages. ⸙ When I graduated from high school and told my teachers that I was going to go to a technical university to study economics, they were shocked. Everyone was sure that I would definitely major in philology. ⸙ After several years, while doing my post-graduate studies, I choose next topic for my PhD thesis: "Promotion of Belarusian publishing activities in foreign markets". ⸙ Then I worked as a marketing specialist in the field of book publishing and bookselling for several years. ⸙ At the same time, I was a freelance columnist for a newspaper covering culture and art. ⸙ Afterwards I was an in-house translator at the travel agency. In the beginning I did this job on a volunteer basis. ⸙ When I was once again faced with the question of choosing my next path in life, I never doubted for a minute that I should stay in the field of linguistics. So I became a freelance translator. ⸙ Perhaps I could have gained more in-depth experience in the translation field over the years, but I gained invaluable experience in how to feel the language, how to work with it, and how to handle it with care. Moreover, I gained experience in technology, economics, art, marketing, and tourism. ⸙⸙⸙ All of this together allows me to provide a well-done job! |
