I was really interested in translation and interpreting all my life, so I decided to study a Bachelor's Degree on Translation and Interpreting at Universitat de Vic.
There I took the ESB Test by University of Cambridge in the level Intermediate, having a final qualification of High.
At the time I started as a translator at a laboratory of analysis. I was translating the results for foreign patients and making the delivery of results easier for professionals at the laboratory to print. So they only had to choose the results and the language needed. There I translated a brochure on Cryo-Genetics.
Being translator appointed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from English to Spanish, I translated several birth and study certificates, agreements and others.
I was then interested by transport and automotion and translated several manuals of machines for car diagnosis and agreements for purchase such machines.
I took some time to pursue Postgraduate studies on Translation and Technologies by Universitat Oberta de Catalunya so I had could gather the education and a bit of practice in web localization, subtitling, etc. I can say my final postgraduate project was to translate the first episode of The IT Crowd.
Since I started these studies, I found this to be a very interesting specialization but decided to dig into it later.
I continued with my interest in transport and I started working on a multinational freight forwarding company. I worked there for 7 years and during this time I improved my knowledge on international transport itself and its terminology.
I finally found my way back to translating in 2017 and got myself into my specialization. I started subtitling, transcribing and working on content localization. I enjoy every single project I get but I usually work translating subtitles for marketing and sales videos, as well as translating subtitles for videoconferences. I also had the luck to be a part of a big project to transcribe audios.
I love culinary and food translations. I always say it's because I love cooking and baking but anyway, it's a part of the work I do that I absolutely love doing.
I started collaborating with Translators Without Borders in May 2018, which is an amazing experience. It's also very interesting and really nice to keep learning. To this date, I still collaborate with TWB whenever I can.
I started working in Upwork in March 2019. I have made several works there related to the translation of product descriptions for private clients' stores on Amazon.
I can be of any help for those who need some guidance on those topics.
