Hungarian to English: Extract from a letter sent to the European Commission
Source text - Hungarian Az Európai Bizottság 2006. április 10-én (2006D/201852) hivatalos felszólítást küldött Magyarország részére, melyben a telefon-áfa levonhatóságának Magyarországon jelenleg hatályos korlátozását a közösségi joggal való összhang szempontjából vitatja.
A hivatalos felszólításban az Európai Bizottság megállapítja, hogy a 2005 január 1-jétől a telefonszolgáltatást terhelő áfa levonási tilalmának 30 %-ról 50 %-ra történő magyarországi megemelése (az általános forgalmi adóról szóló 1992. évi LXXIV. törvény 33 (4) bekezdése ellentétes a tagállamok forgalmi adóra vonatkozó jogszabályainak összehangolásáról - közös hozzáadottértékadó-rendszer; egységes adóalap-megállapítás - szóló 1977. május 17-i 77/388/EGK hatodik tanácsi irányelv 17. cikk (2) bekezdésével.
Translation - English The European Commission sent a letter of formal notice (2006D/201852) to Hungary on 10 April 2006 disputing the consistency with Community law of the current restriction of the right to deduct VAT on telecommunications costs.
The Commission establishes in the letter of formal notice that the increase in restriction (Article 33(4) of Act LXXIV of 1992 on Value Added Tax) of the right of deduction from 30% to 50% as from 1 January 2005 is against article 17(2) of the Sixth VAT Directive 77/388/EEC of 17 May 1977 on the harmonization of the laws of the Member States relating to turnover taxes – common system of value added tax: uniform basis of assessment.
