Internationalization is a separate but related task from translation or localization. Before translation or localization, a product should be assessed to ensure it meets minimum internationalization requirements—that it can display and treat various languages as intended by the application. Internationalization is often abbreviated as I18N and you can follow Twitter threads about it by searching the hash tag #i18n.

The Lingoport resources page is an excellent place to find articles, whitepapers, webinars and video recordings that will provide information on what software internationalization is and how it can help your company be successful in the international market place. More.
