Support for literary translation contributes to one of the key objectives of the programme: encouraging: the transnational circulation of cultural and artistic products and works.

This sub-category provides financial support for the  translation of literature from one European language into another. The translation projects may be submitted by independent publishers or publishing groups from participating countries.

The translation of ancient texts forming part of our literary heritage – including classic languages, such as Ancient Greek or Latin – are also eligible.
EU support for the actions is limited to half of the total eligible cost and is set at a maximum of Euro 60 000.

Grant applications may be made by public or private bodies with legal status. Their  principal activity must be in the cultural field and their registered office must be  based in one of the countries participating in the programme. They must have the financial and operational capacity needed to complete the action proposed.
