En décoration, les faux paintings regroupent tout un ensemble de techniques décoratives, à savoir effets de matières (faux bois, faux marbre, fausses craquelures) mais aussi les effets de vieillissement, les patines ... et le trompe l'oeil qui n'est que l'un de ces effets décoratifs.
J'ai trouvé un site en anglais qui décrit toutes ces techniques (sous les liens google) et en cherchant peintures à effets décoratifs ou peintures à effets, il existe plusieurs références de livres.
