Italian term

trasloelevatore

Italian to English Tech/Engineering Transport / Transportation / Shipping warehousing
This has been asked once before, but the aswer "dumb waiter" certainly does not apply in this case.

This is in reference to an automated warehouse, and I think it refers to these really modern 3D forklifts which scoot around the warehouse picking up things and moving them around.

"Nel magazzino vengono gestiti in radiofrequenza 6.650 prodotti, mentre 25.900 prodotti vengono movimentati grazie ad un moderno trasloelevatore."

automated fork lift-truck

The Italian site shows a picture of what this must be. The English site talks about it. I have actually visited the Saima site in Modena described here and I know that it corresponds to the image of the Italian site. The gap between the rows of high-rack stacking is very small and a sort of mono-rail moves along and positions itself opposite the appropriate place and a telescopic arm does the rest (after the device has been raised vertically to the requisite height). There is no human being in sight. It is very impressive...

My low confidence level concerns the appropriate term...

The retrieval vehicle can only be described as a form of advanced fork lift truck extending up to the full 20 metres and mounted on a monorail.
