neutral TechLawDC : Capitale nominale. Translation correct, definition wrong. Initial capital, whether or not it has been paid-in. "par value" is definitely wrong in all circumstances; not surprisingly it is paid-in share capital per share (if the entity is a share corp).

agree Katherine Zei : Translation correct, but TechLawDC is correct about the definition. Though you should call it nom. cap., it's actually referring to paid-in cap (see Invest. Words.com).

nominal capital (capitale nominale)

(Sorry -- I ran out of room on the comment space for other answerer.)
Definition: Initial capital, whether or not it has been paid-in.
"par value" is wrong definition, despite website's confirmation of wrong definition. As stated, "par value" can never be right because as the term implies it is per share, not a total capital amount.

(I don't fault answerer Maria Johnson. She made a valuable contribution.) (The error by WebFinance Inc. of Virginia aka investorwords.com is not the last which will creep into KudoZ annals in the guise of actual knowledge.)
____By "can never be right" I mean that even in the special case of a share company it cannot be right.

____Also, "nominal" means just that. Contributions assessed but not yet paid-in are still part of "nominal capital".
