production break (for cleaning)
DuPont Animal Health Solutions - Modern ChallengesThe pig farmer today is bombarded with challenges from every direction. ... production breaks to empty, clean and disinfect the unit section by section. ...
www.antecint.co.uk/Main/modchall.htm I can't open this, but it provides what I think is a suitable way to express the concept.
This refers to the practice of rotating pig units for cleaning. When a unit is emptied because the pigs have been sent to the slaughterhouse, there is a compulsory 15 day period for thorough cleaning (Spanish legislation)
Dawn's ref above is useful to point out the degree of profound cleaning called for - pigs in this case rather than birds, and the reality is that the clean-up has to be more frequent, at least for pigs!

If it has to do with cleaning, but you would not like to call it a clean-up or disinfection, how about (sanitary) treatment?

Efectivamente no era "sanitary slaughter". Disculpa mi error.
He ocultado la respuesta anterior y creo que he dado con la correcta.
