Credo si tratti proprio di questo. Infatti event -driven non è sinonimo di event-based, che pure esiste. Il senso di driven è quello di ''favorire'' l'evento che in campo medico è quasi sempre il sintomo di una patologia. Aggiungo dei link spererei utili ;-) :
