English term or phrase: bank account / banking account
I have a document already translated into spanish of some strings of an online bank website, it seems.
As far as I see, both terms have been equally translated as "cuenta bancaria".
I have however the feeling that there must be any difference between both.
These two terms are sentences themselves, not being in the context of longer phrases.

Spanish translation:cuenta bancaria/cuenta comercial/operacional
Explanation:

¿no tienes alguna otra sugerencia?

cuenta bancaria

Explanation:
You've basically described it.
With a "bank account" the emphasis is on the bank, e.g., I have a bank account at XYZ Bank (as opposed to one at ABC Bank).
With a "banking account", the emphasis is on the use of the banking system (which, of necessity, requires the use of a bank).
I think cuenta bancaria covers both, unless you have some context that suggests the use of something else.

Asker: Hi Paul, your explanation sounds really well. My point is mainly to see if anyone can suggest two different terms in Spanish, if there is any chance to get it. =) When about synonyms, I do not like very much repeating same words in translations, but at this point I am kind of clumsy and sleepy to think of any good option for not repeating "bancaria" twice

Explanation:
For info only (no translation offered ...)

In the UK, a 'bank account' (which may be a 'cuenta corriente', 'cuenta de ahorro' u otra) is the basic service that allows you to deposit and retrieve your money, make payments with cheques or credit cards, etc.

A 'bankING account' - which is often reserved for cleints with more than a minumum amount in their banck account' - goes further and may include financial and investment advice, overdraft facilities, and other services over and above those available with the basic 'bank account'. Several major UK banks refer to 'private banking' - meaning 'executive banking services for the (relatively) well-off.

Hope this helps in finding the appropriate Spanish terms...

Asker: Thanks a lot mediamatrix. Your explanations are really good. Hopefully any colleague may help me with this to find any good option =)

Asker: Assuming that the source text I have is corresponding to your explanations....would it be perhaps "cuenta bancaria básica" and "cuenta bancaria personal"(or cuenta bancaria "plus" for banking account)?? What do other colleagues think?
