passend - passende Ein-/Ausgänge

Non-PRO German to English Tech/Engineering Computers: Hardware
In einem ähnlichen Zusammenhang wie diesem: "Sie können die Geräte nur miteinander verbinden, wenn sie passende Ein-/Ausgänge haben."
"Passend" wäre dann wahrscheinlich im Sinne von physisch passend (wie bei einem USB-Stecker und einem USB-Anschluss) und/oder "kompatibel", "so beschaffen, dass sie zusammenarbeiten".
suitable?? fitting (das wäre nun rein physisch, oder?)?
Es gibt hier zwar bereits sehr viele Einträge zu "passend" in den persönlichen Glossaren, aber da fehlt so oft der Kontext ...

Regarding matching:

You woudn't want to use "matching," because that means "identical." You can't attach a USB port to another USB port, but a USB drive will go into an USB port, because these are compatible.
