Does anyone know what the U is for in U-Exam or is it even an abbreviation? If so, is there an English equivalent? Well-baby exam maybe?

Explanation:
Having had those in Germany with my baby, I am very sure this is the term!

I guess all of us found the same website, now we just need to figure out how to really call it, since it's not just for babies, as Dr. Schmitt pointed out.

preventive examination (of children)

Explanation:
"U" stands for "Untersuchung", therefore this is 'doppelt gemoppelt', but in colloqial language this is called like this

U1 to U9 etc. are the examinations of babies and children about their development and health in Germany ata certain ages

Sorry for the typos, of course "colloquial" and "at certain ages"!
I am definitely sure about the meaning, but maybe there is a better translation into English

These examinations go up until 5 years of age, and then there is another examination for the teenagers, therefore it is not only babies

This might be suitable as a translation:
"Well-child exam", the link shows that they also are performed until the age of 5:

Here is another link, and though some sources write "well-child exam", the more common version seems to be "well child exam"
