There is another condition that will cause the well to flow with the pumps off and this is caused by being “out of balance”. An out of balance condition is when one side of the u-tube has a higher hydrostatic and the fluids are balancing, which we saw would create flow. However, it is recommended to SHUT THE WELL IN until it is determined the flow is not caused by underbalance.
