Hello and Happy New Year to all at Proz,
I'm working on an article on the future of libraries which discusses the need to protect and promote the "patrimoine écrit et graphique". "Patrimoine graphique" covers everything from sketches by Picasso to menu cards to wallpaper samples. I'm not very keen on "graphic heritage", so so far, I've experimented with "documentary heritage", "archival heritage", and "paper heritage", but am not thoroughly convinced by any of them. Any bright ideas?
Many thanks.

graphical heritage
I would opt for this, as does this article in the newslettter of the Commission on Preservation and Access, concerning the proposed introduction of a French law to save the nation's "graphical heritage" in libraries caused by the acidification and destruction of paper over time.

Hatami’s Films are Iran’s only Pictorial Heritage
Filmmaker Fereidun Jeirani is convinced that the late director Ali Hatami’s productions are Iran’s only pictorial heritage.
Speaking at a ceremony held on the anniversary of Hatami’s death, Jeirani said that Ali Hatami was an artist who can never be replaced, and that he will always remembered in history.
The memorial ceremony was held at the House of Cinema with Hatami’s lone daughter Leila and her husband Ali Mosaffa present. Many other cinematic figures and critics including Saeid Mostaghasi also attended.
The ceremony continued with the screening of one of Hatami’s masterpieces, an episode from the TV series “The Sultan of Sahebqaran.” The series aired in the years 1975 and 1976 on Iran’s national TV channel.

: visual heritage - just in case the scope includes motion pictures, video tapes, computer graphics or other 'non-paper' materials.

I do think this is the correct translation, since these are works on paper - could you not reword it to say 'holdings of manuscripts and works on paper / graphic works'. Perhaps then it would sound more natural to the EN ear.
